Our Story
We created IQ Automation + Design as a family-run business built on the knowledge and experience of Pedro Steck, who has 25+ years as an electronic engineer. For the last 15 years he’s dedicated himself to a superior client experience in smart home automation design, home theatres and high-end audio systems in Toronto, Simcoe & Muskoka.
Pedro has an incredible eye for detail and design, and has the privilege of working with some of Toronto & the GTA’s most exclusive custom home builders and designers. His vast knowledge of construction has proven extremely useful to our clients to creatively hide electronics and install large unobtrusive home automation systems while preserving the homes' architectural and design aesthetic. He has impeccable workmanship and, as many customers have chuckled about, an obsession to keep his job site cleaner than when he got there.
Pedro’s passion for all things electronic and technical started around seven years old, when he started taking apart small appliances, radios, and televisions. So as our go-to tech guy, he will be with you on your project from start to finish and will always spend the necessary time to educate and teach you how to use your smart home system.
There is no question that as a family we love living a tech life and enjoy sharing our knowledge with our clients—Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights and turn on the fireplace—but truly, at the core of our success is the long-term relationships and trust we’ve built with clients throughout the years. This has been and continues to be the fuel that keeps the passion for our business alive and well.
